Anahata

Anahata: A home where architecture and nature become one

Set in the western hills of San José, Anahata is more than a residence—it is a sanctuary where architecture, nature, and well-being converge. Designed by Carazo Arquitectura and developed by Inmobiliaria Diversa, the project embodies the essence of biophilic design, creating a seamless connection between interior living spaces and the lush natural landscape of Escazú.

Inspired by the fourth chakra—Anahata, symbolizing balance, calm, and serenity, the residence was conceived to offer a living experience rooted in harmony and emotional well-being. Every architectural gesture—from the orientation of the spaces to the use of natural light and ventilation—encourages a deeper connection with the natural environment.

Design that elevates the senses

The elegance of Anahata lies in its simplicity and intentionality. Dark wooden accents crafted with Kebony Clear and supplied by Bio-Tile Group blend beautifully with the surrounding greenery, bringing warmth and sophistication to each space. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the interiors with natural light, fresh air, and immersive views of Escazú’s hills.

For its residents, the home represents “a place of peace, where nature and family become one—a space to relax and live the moments of everyday life.” They describe the atmosphere as “a feeling of harmony and tranquility that allows us to be fully ourselves, in perfect connection with the landscape.”

The collaboration between Bio-Tile Group and Kebony played a defining role in the project. As the residents express, the combination “was unbeatable—resulting in a genuine sense of perfection and harmony throughout the entire residence.”

Sustainability as a design principle

Remaining true to the foundations of biophilic and bioclimatic design, Anahata prioritizes passive comfort strategies such as cross-ventilation, abundant daylight, and thoughtful spatial orientation that minimizes heat gain.

The use of sustainable, certified materials reinforces the project’s commitment to responsible construction.
With technical advisory, specialized installation services, and high-quality materials, Bio-Tile Group ensured a final result that is both durable and deeply authentic.

Kebony’s perspective on Anahata

“For Kebony, Anahata represents a project where material choice is inseparable from the architectural narrative. Guided by biophilic design principles, the residence embodies Kebony’s vision of harmonizing sustainability, longevity, and refined aesthetics. The use of Kebony wood elevates both the sensory and structural dimensions of the home—its natural warmth and understated elegance seamlessly integrating with the surrounding landscape. In doing so, it allows the design intent to unfold freely while ensuring enduring performance and authenticity.”
